At a meeting with MP Lammy, President Osmani has thanked the United Kingdom for continuing support of Kosovo since the 1990s, and in this context, asked for further support for the challenges facing Kosovo in this period.
The president stressed that Kosovo, as a joint success of its people and international allies, has taken important steps in strengthening democracy, as well as rule of the order and law. Always on the right side of history, Kosovo has lined up side by side with allies even with sanctions against Russia and in support of Ukraine.
But, as President Osmani argued, the interest of the satellite of Russia, Serbia, to destabilise the Western Balkan region is greater than ever before, because Serbia is interested in blocking success in dialogue and achieving its goals by violence and through criminal gangs.
Therefore, President Osmani added that Kosovo still needs the support of allies like the United Kingdom so that steps can be taken in strengthening and consolidating the international position, as well as in fighting Russian-Serbian destabilising tendencies.
In particular, President Osmani highlighted the importance of supporting the Council of Europe membership, as well as NATO's Partnership for Peace, as the imidia priority.
The meeting has also discussed the process of dialogue with Serbia, where President Osmani has reiterated the fact that Kosovo continues to be a constructive party, which is facing Serbia's ongoing constructions.
She argued that it is important that the United Kingdom continue its legacy of supporting Kosovo not only in strengthening international subjectivity but also in intensifying co-operation in areas of mutual interest.
