Mediu said he sees the meeting as good, as according to him, Albania needs a special structure that makes the analysis relevant to security issues.
He also spoke of the situation in northern Kosovo, where he said that the approach Serbia is pursuing is the same as that pursued by Russia in Ukraine.
After Russian aggression in Ukraine, the concept of security is seen in a different light, is not simply a concept of protection, or intelligence. We are in a region where it is expected and it is possible to have conflicts, early conflicts, but also new conflicts”.
“Even Albania is not a country out of trouble, being a NATO country. Let's see what happens in northern Kosovo, which is a permanent provocation of Serbia. Serbia's narativa today is the same one used by Russia in Ukraine”, Mediu has been expressed, writes A2cn.
According to Mediu, it is necessary to see how an intensity, internet-intensiveness of Russian and Chinese influence in the Balkan region can be contained today, with media, military, economics.
“Strengthening these positions in the Balkan region is at the expense of our national interests. Therefore it is thought that the Berlin Process is a more substantial process, because we need not only better access to the EU but also to curb those things, which if the process starts, will be a little harder to contain”.
“We need to be very attentive to determine who our partners are. This is a real issue that should bother us. The issue of national security is not the issue of a government, of a president, of a certain moment, but is a matter of continuation, and as such we will have to build our national security strategy”, Mediu has indicated.
