Martin Berishaaj has testified falsely to the parliamentary commission. He said the UK Consulting company closed in 2020, but documents published by Berisha's company's bank accounts show he accepted payment at least until April 2022. Paying from GEN-I Belgrade took place even after Berishaaj took up the ambassadorship. The last was over 50,000 euros. Kosovo's Penal Code, Article 391 “falsely sworn-in” condemns it to 3 years in prison. Under specific circumstances up to five years in prison.

He waited five seconds with a pen he brought along Martin Berishaaj signed the declaration agreeing to speak only the truth and nothing else Before the Parliamentary Energy Commission in the Kosovo Parliament on November 17th, 2022.

Before it was signed, the <x0-declaration under oath” was read by Commission Chairman Driton Selmanaj.

“Aware of the importance of my testimony and my legal responsibility solemnly swear that I will tell the truth, the whole truth and only the truth, and that I will not hide anything I am aware of --” -- wrote in the statement Kosovo's ambassador to Croatia signed.

Since she was called to testify about his work for the Slovenian power company GEN-I and had received salaries from her branch in Belgrade, one of Berisha's first questions was whether he continued to be paid by this branch even at the time he had already started working as ambassador.

Berisha said “jo”, but data from the accounts of his MB Consulting firm in Kosovo and Montenegro say “po”. Even long after becoming an ambassador.

Albanian from Montenegro took up the ambassadorial post on September 10th 2021, but in one of the payments Berisha has made to Berisha from GEN-I Belgrade marks April 7th 2022.

So at least another six months Berisha shared his energy between the Kosovo lobbie and the GEN-ICE consultancy, until paid from both sides.

As you can see, the payment as GEN-Iï consultant was completely non-concilative to that of Kosovo.

Berisha on April 7th from GEN-I was paid 35 thousand and 106 euros, data released by the Kosovo Financial Intelligence Unit investigating Berisha indicated.

Berisha, who on evidence says not only did he not accept money after becoming an ambassador, but that the company had closed much earlier and that “did not function from 2020”, knew that false statements under oath constituted legal violations.

It was repeated to Selmanaj as leader of the parliamentary group before reading the form of solmen's oath.

“You are obliged to tell the truth, if you do not tell the truth you can follow the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo”, read Selmanaj.

According to the Kosovo Criminal Code, Article 391 “Anyone who after taking an oath with the competent body to administer testimony given under oath or vows and then signs the testimony under oath or declares something that does not believe to be true or knowingly concealed or avoid any relevant case for procedure, is fined or sentenced to prison for up to three (3) years”.

By the same code the sentence could go up to 5 years in prison if “Statement from paragraph 1. This article was given during the criminal procedure.”.

Of the figures drawn in the accounts in Kosovo and Montenegro banks so far, it is understood that the total amount of Berisha's benefits from GEN-I Belgrade is over 4m euros.

This money was collected between 2015 and 2022.

For the money Berisha deposits in Kosovo, the Kosovo Tax Administration has shown that it has avoided obligations to the state worth about 70 thousand euros.

The UK Consulting Company registered in Montenegro, but with a branch in Pristina as well, according to the accounts, in Kosovo alone has received a salary from GEN-I “1m of 531 thousand and 480 euros”.

This money most of them have continued to withdraw until 2022 by Martin Berishaaj in the form of kejit below “for business needs”.

From accounts in Montenegro, this too disclosed by the media Berishaj had won from GEN-I over 3m euros.

For his alleged activity, Berisha is being investigated in Kosovo by the Constitutional Prosecution for Recoupling Property and by the Special Prosecutor for Tax evasion and remittances.

So far, President Vjosa Osmani, Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Kosovo Foreign Affairs Minister Donika Grovalla have been put in charge of Berisha and say they have no reason to dismiss him.

Recent information by Slovenian media says Berisha with a portion of those millions he received from GEN-I in Belgrade has financed the Vetevendosje Movement and List campaigns. Albanian Post this campaign financing information has yet to prove it.
