Kurti: West fears Serbia ? S? are treating me like Vucinqi

Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, in an interview for the Austrian newspaper Der Standard, said the West does not treat it the same as Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, is treated. “generally, I don't feel that they treat me the same way, Kurt said as he basically explained why he feels that way. “The West has some fear of Serbia's destabilising potential and of [...]
“generally, I don't feel that they treat me the same way, Kurt said as he basically explained why he feels that way.
“The West has some fear of Serbia's destabilising potential, and, on the other hand, there is a tendency to think Serbia could soon be forced back to the West”.
Therefore, according to its assessment, all six Western Balkan countries -- Kosovo, Albania, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Northern Macedonia and Serbia “ -- are falling into a pit whose ends are currently the low expectations of Vuciq, but the medium-term expectations of it”.
Asked whether Serbs who left Kosovo Police in early November should return, Kurti stressed that “would not exclude” but neither “urged them to return”.
“We have renamed all remaining positions in the police, I have no intention of replacing Serbs with Albanians. A commission will decide who will be admitted”, he said.
In this interview, the executive head again spoke of the Association of Serb-run municipalities, whose foundation is increasingly being sought by European Union and United States officials.
Kurti initially pointed out that “constitution does not allow communities based on ethnic criteria”, giving an interesting explanation for the issue.
I told Vucic that I have the impression that he doesn't want community association, because you can't ask for association and say every week: I will not recognise the state of Kosovo. You can't serve a car without a cup of coffee”.
As for the start of dialogue between Pristina and Belgrade on the basis of the Franco-German proposal for normalisation of reports, he said Belgrade is not interested at all in a framework agreement with Kosovo at the moment.
“Vucic has repeatedly said he is not interested in such an agreement. He's interested in crisis management, the phenomenon of firemen and firefighters. You light fires, then you wear another jacket quickly and you say, I can put out the fire!”
