The prime minister says he has been incorrectly warned of losing support from the European Union and the United States of America. But, he says the assessment for Kosovo should not be made by “over any official”, but by what is done within the country.
The special representative for the Kosovo dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak, has cited the possibility of sanctioning the non-co-operative state in efforts to reach an agreement between the two states.
Prime Minister Albin Kurti says that perhaps one should be considered sanctioning Serbia, for its attitude towards Russia, since it started the war in Ukraine.
Kosovo is listed with the European Union, the United States of America and Great Britain in terms of sanctions on the Russian Federation and their invasion aggression in Ukraine. Serbia has not imposed sanctions on the Russian Federation and probably should have thought about the sanctions Serbia should have had why it is imposing sanctions on Russia”, Kurti has said in an interview for Radio Free Europe.
The assessment of Kosovo, Kurti says, should be based exclusively on what is done within the country, not on any official “regime “to any official”.
Of course, certain processes can delay us, but I believe the most powerful guarantee the Republic of Kosovo has is the last Progress Report from October last year, which is the best report we've ever received in recognition of our country. In this case, it should be noted that there is no area in which we have either a regrition or a stagnation. It's only about different types of progress, so the assessment of Kosovo should be based exclusively on what we do in our country in terms of European values and economic growth, and not by choice, let's say political, to any official”, says Kurti.
The prime minister, questioned whether the internationals have mentioned losing support in the event Kosovo is not constructive, as they think, has said they have said in an alluvial way.
Look, we don't have anything concrete. But, they may have said in a way that includes or hinted that support for expected Kosovo could not be so if Kosovo did not, let's say... is not described as constructive. But we are very constructive, except that we are committed and creative”, Kurti said.
