In an interview for Radio Free Europe, Kurti said this meeting would be held as a result of US envoy Gabriel Escobar's insistence on the Western Balkans.
He said he has waited from Escobar to say in Belgrade that Serbia should recognise Kosovo, not say in Pristina that the association will take place, regardless of Kosovo's prime minister.
Speaking of the European plan for normalising Kosovo-Serbia relations, Kurti said he was not introduced in the form of “take it or leave it”, but as the platform for further discussion.
He reiterated that the European proposal is a good basis for discussion, but said it does not contain everything Kosovo would like.
Kurti, also, said he expects intensive dialogue with Serbia, so that an agreement can be reached on the deadline mentioned, March 2023, respectively.
