The Kremlin has also said that achieving its goals by political and diplomatic means is “preferable”, but the position of Ukraine and the West is hampering the possibility of negotiations at the moment, Skynews writes.
In his recent statement, the Kremlin also said it is making progress in military operations around the town of Saltmine Soledar in eastern Ukraine, and that it has “positive version”.
Last December, Putin said Russia could reach an agreement with Ukraine to end its war.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, meanwhile, said the result of the conflict should be a “fair and stable peace”.
