The Danish government's plan to resolve space shortages in its prisons by offering Kosovo seats to convicted criminals has been put on hold until Kosovo receives over 6m euros in Danish aid, writes www.altinget.dk.
In Kosovo, the agreement regarding the prison will not be reviewed and approved in parliament until the millions' aid agreement with Denmark is negotiated and signed.
Only when that happens can Denmark begin with the renovation of the prison in Gjilan, so that it is ready to wait for criminals for whom the two countries have reached agreement in December 2021.
