Last year, because of the strike in education, the lesson had begun a month late. Inflation in the country, which resulted in significant price hikes, forced employers to demand from the government wage increases for 100 euros until the introduction of the Law of Salaries.

However, the power ignored these requirements by deciding for a rhetorical payment from 50 euros to January of this year.

In the absence of agreement, which was highlighted with <x0 version” government against the SBASK, the latter had fired from August 25th of 2022, until October 1, meanwhile, the lesson had begun on October 3rd.

However, the strike ceases, The SBASK had called “psiation”, saying that if the strike fails to find a way of understanding with the government, it resumes in January.

Until the strike's suspension, the Union said it came after a union-member vote, which, based on the results presented, 54.88 percent of membership had voted for the suspension of the strike until January.

Education Union Chairman Nundman Jasharaj had said at a press conference on October 1st that the strike has not been closed.

He had ordered Government to use this time for dialogue with unionists and not take “as a victory, because no one has won”.
From the government we seek to meet in genuine dialogue to realize the legitimate requirements of membership. I hope the Government and Parliament will keep their word on the Law of Pays, on changing the Law on Pension schemes, and especially on the discriminatory criteria for 15 years' contributions before 1990. I hope the Law on Health Insurance is jointly worked, I wish the three parties on the Economic-Social Council to sign the Kolektive Agreement, something that is the basis for union rights in Kosovo”, Jasharaj said.

However, in December of last year, the Education Union had sought to take into account their demands at the Assembly Meeting at the plenary session, where the Bill on Salaries was reviewed in the public sector.

Rarsman Jasharaj had asked Minister of Education Arberie Nagavci to outdo the remains and cooperate with SBASK.

Minister Nagavci's “cabinet has argued there have been commitments, since the strike from here we haven't had a meeting with Mr. Nagavci and we have expected to have an appointment to debate all cases. If she has any nervous or leftovers she should show and call commitment to dialogue and I don't believe she has any resentment but she has a reputation for strike”, Jasharaj said, as in the most powerful union voices, adding that if they ignore their demands, they could still ask the Union's membership to return to the strike.

Public sector wage law can “backs” The SSASK.
On December 22nd of last year, Kosovo's Assembly had adopted the Law on Salaries in the public sector on second reading.

The SBASK had called this Law favourable, saying that if it finds implementation, January may be calm and that the suspended strike in October will not continue. However, this Law has been sent to the Constitutional Court.

On 30 December of last year, the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) had handed over to the Constitutional Court the Law for Public Officials.

According to the PDK, this Law also conflicts with the obligations Kosovo has made to the European Union through a Stabilisation and Association Agreement (MSA) and European principles for public administration.
