One of the families affected by the flooding is the Krasniqi family in Istog, who has announced that four houses in the neighbourhood have been blocked and no municipal official has responded to the invitation for help.
We're trapped today, exactly on Ditura Street in the municipality of Istog. If this continues, water soon enters our home. We have sought help from the municipality, but we have received response”, says Visar Krasniqi, the resident who sent videos from this neighbourhood.
On the other hand, Istog Community spokeswoman Delvina Sylaj declares that by morning the mayor of the municipality, Ilir Ferati, along with the Emergency Directorate team, has come out on the ground to monitor affected areas and families.
It is true that many areas have flooded, but in this case we are unaware, and I will report it immediately to the Emergency Directorate. By 8:30 a.m., however, the chairman and the emergency directorate have come out on the ground to observe and come to the aid of citizens affected by the flooding. We're ready to intervene in any situation”, Sylaj said.
