Hill: I like Open Balkans, it allows people to get better acquainted with each other

US Ambassador to Belgrade Christopher Hill, in an interview for “Nedeljnik” has also talked about how he likes the “Open Balkans initiative, because it enables people to get better acquainted with each other and added that he believes there has never been so much positive interactions between Albanians from Albania and Serbs [...]
As he pointed out, it is a process in which businesses can capture a wider market, but also by which the claustrophobic is being resolved.
And if this process will reduce those crowds, then it has to be backed up”, Hill said, writes Cosovo-online.
He also said it is an excellent initiative and that it is wonderful to see the prime minister of Albania and the president of Serbia discussing resolving important problems for citizens.
The American ambassador added that there are many stories in these areas, and that it is important to respect history, but that we should not be captive to it.
I appreciate that everything will be resolved for someone to take something, and someone to take something else”, he stressed, adding that he is not interested in taking sides and that although his country has a different attitude towards Kosovo compared with official Belgrade, it does not prevent it from co-operating with the governments of Belgrade and Pristina. He estimated that it is not in anyone's interest to continue living with tension.
