The vast majority of countries support pre-launching. Such measures would be in contrast with recommendations by the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), which said the screening rules and travel restrictions are not justified by current data.
What countries have arranged measures?
Several European countries, including Italy, Spain and France, have established mandatory flight tests from China. Belgium, on the other hand, decided to proceed with an analysis by aircraft coming from China to discover a new version of the virus.
As a precaution, the US and several other countries including Italy, Japan and Israel have announced that they will demand that China travelers be tested for the virus. South Korea made a relevant decision Friday, which will remain in force until February 2023.
France and Britain have announced they will demand that travelers from China show a negative 48-hour test before departure. The move will be implemented from January 5th to Britain, while from the first days of January to France. Spain requires a negative “t” or “creticate full vaccination”.
Germany has proposed setting up a “observator” of Covid variants at airports, without imposing passenger tests. Switzerland has indicated it does not plan to increase passenger control from China. Preliminary measures taken by many countries are understandable due to Beijing's lack of information, O chief said Tedros Adhanom Ghebraesus' BSH.
China threatens countries that impose measures on its travelers
“We believe that certain countries' restrictions for travel entry from China have no scientific basis and some excessive measures are unacceptable,” Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said at a regular press conference Tuesday.
“We strongly oppose efforts to manipulate the prevention and control measures of COVID-19 to achieve political adaptation, and China will take relevant measures based on the principle of reciprocity in various situations”, Ning said.
