A newspaper reported that the step could include the supply of Marder war vehicles to combat Russian forces.

This comes after Germany faced new pressure to send the most modern combat vehicles to Ukraine following France's decision to send light AMX-10 RC combat vehicles.

On Wednesday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky urged Western allies to secure his army with tanks and heavy weapons to fight Vladimir Putin's forces.

The Swedish Zeitung newspaper reported that Germany's step could include the delivery of Marder war vehicles, citing government sources, with the decision reportedly being taken in close co-ordination with the United States and France.
