Germany expected to double number of unqualified workers from Kosovo, region

German authorities aim to double the quota for immigration unqualified workers from Albania, Kosovo, Northern Macedonia, Serbia, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina, said in a bill prepared by the federal Labour Ministry and Germany's Interior Ministry, in which German news agency had access, dpa. In the future, [...]
In the future, instead of 25,000 workers now being allowed by the Order for the Western Balkans, the number will double to 50,000 unqualified workers who in one year can come to Germany.
With the so-called <x0->Rule for the Western Balkans” currently allowed to come to Germany of 250,000 workers has qualifications, out of all six Western Balkan countries. These workers must first find a job contract and then require a term for a working visa in German embassies in the country they live in, DW reports.
Under current laws, qualified workforce can come to Germany from all parts of the world. While only from the Western Balkans can workers get jobs and working visas, even without professional qualifications.
This regulation has been drafted after the first wave of refugee crisis in 2015 and 2016, as large tides of refugees from Syria to Germany have also reached a large number of Kosovo citizens Albania, Serbia, Northern Macedonia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The idea of Berlin was that people from the Western Balkans, instead of looking without hope for political asylum, should try to find work in Germany.
“
This is not the only change the bill of two federal ministries envisions. Germany is trying to reform the current laws, in order to face “with the dramatic lack of workforce in numerous branches”, the agency estimates dpa.
The changes include the so-called “chance card”, the possibility of people coming to Germany and here looking for a job. During this time, they would have the right to do another part - time job in some secular job to make a living in Germany for work.
According to dpa, the “chance card” must be given according to the new score system for anyone who collects at least six points. Four points are given for professional qualifications, three points for good German recognition or at least three years of work experience, two points if the person is younger than 35 and a point if the person lived legally in Germany in a period of at least six months.
Great Needs for Work Force
Germany is in desperate need of workforce. German authorities have announced during 2022 that this country needs about 400,000 qualified workers from other countries each year, particularly in the economy, health and other professions.
While the Western Balkans are seen as a greedy reservoir of the workforce. But it also deepens problems with youth migration and lack of workforce in countries of origin, the countries of the Western Balkans. / DW
