EU offers 500m euros in aid to Pakistan

In a video message sent to the international conference on “Pakistan's Resistance to Climate”, which is held in the town of Geneva, Switzerland under the organization of the United Nations and Pakistan, Von der Leyen, reminded that one of the world's greatest natural disasters was experienced in Pakistan.
Pakistan's “People need assistance” stressed Von der Leeyen, who announced they will provide 500m euros in support for humanitarian aid and reconstruction of Pakistan.
Von der Leyen, among other things, said the EU and Pakistan recently agreed on a 87m-euro package under economic co-operation projects and that EU humanitarian aid reached 172m euros.
About 1,740 people lost their lives and more than 12,000 were injured as a result of the flood disaster that was marked in the summer of 2022 in Pakistan.
Flood damage that affected more than 33 million people throughout the country has exceeded $30 billion. The country in the long term, meanwhile, needs $16 billion for reconstruction and recovery.
