The European Union has estimated that the situation in northern Kosovo continues to be fragile.
EU spokesperson for foreign policy Nabila Massrali, at the media conference, has said recent developments in Kosovo have shown how important it is to achieve normalisation of relations.
“We have welcomed the evacuation of tensions and the removal of barricades. The EU has played an active role in achieving this, in co-ordinating with the US and KFOR. The situation remains fragile. We wait on all sides to hold back and remain calm. They avoid actions that have potential to reverse escalation or violence. E ULEX continues to monitor the situation. The developments in recent weeks have shown how important it is to make real and irreversible progress towards normalising relations”, Massrali has said.
She has added that the EU expects the implementation of all agreements reached so far in dialogue.
The “Starting with the return of Kosovo Serbs to institutions and the beginning of discussions on the Association of Serb majority municipalities. The EU will continue with both sides in this direction”, Massrali said.
