US Special Envoy for the Western Balkans Gabriel Escobar believes the goal can be achieved in dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, stressing that he has seen positive reactions to the current international community's proposal by both sides

During his visit to Croatia, Escobar noted it is not appropriate for Europe to maintain a frozen conflict within its borders.

We're still in the beginning. But I see some positive reactions from both capitals. The reality is that in the current crisis, it is not a good idea for Europe to maintain a frozen conflict within its borders. We are using this proposal as a platform to find a solution that would work for both countries. And these are solutions that pave the Euro-Atlantic way, protect minority communities and really open up opportunities for economic ties. And that's why I think there's reason for optimism”, he said.

Speaking of the official Pristina reactions to the proposal for agreement between Kosovo and Serbia, he said politicians in Pristina also have concerns, but has voiced hope that an agreement would be reached.

He has added that Kosovo has full US support.

They have their concerns. I think we still have work to do, but I think we'll make it. Kosovo has US support, is a good partner, and I see no doubt. I think we will achieve what we want”, Escobar said, the Croatian newspaper Vijesti writes.
