Document proving property assessment in Pristina is made by MP

Kosovo citizens have been alarmed Tuesday for doubling the tax price on property, while central and local institutions have blamed each other on the issue.

But, according to a decision by the Ministry of Finance, it turns out that the property assessment in Pristina is made by this dictatorship, not by the municipality of Pristina.

In the decision, protocol on October 31st of last year, which was sent to Pristina's president, Progress Rama, specifys changing property assessment.

During Tuesday, the Ministry of Finance, Labour and Transfers has announced that this dictatorship, based on the Law for Tax in Property, is obliged to make regular grounds to assess real estate, while the tax rate is determined by municipalities themselves.

“Property Tax Department, under the MPPT, carried out the overall assessment of land and residential objects, as well as compiled residential property assessment reports on the 3110.2022s, all reported. During the assessment of residential property, the Property Department has closely co-operated with municipalities to determine the price of m2 for objects and land.”, says the Ministry of Finance, Labour and Transfers report.
