Decani historians: Do not let Monastery be part of dialogue with Serbia

The chairman of the League of Historians of Kosovo “Alri Hadri” branch in Decan, Shkodran Imaj, has said the Decani Monastery should not be allowed to be part of dialogue with Serbia. He pointed out in an interview for EO that they have sent letters to Prime Minister Albin Kurti on the matter, adding that the monastery is located [...]
He in an interview for EO stressed that they have sent letter to Prime Minister Albin Kurti on the issue, adding that the monastery is located on Kosovo territory and must be handled more in force.
“Should not be and should not be allowed to be, we have asked Prime Minister Kurti through a letter we have sent earlier that this topic should not enter negotiations with Serbia, the Decani Monastery belongs to or is part of the territory of the Republic of Kosovo, it should be treated according to Kosovo's” laws, Imeraj said.
He has further talked about the monastery's properties, has indicated that they have demanded the resignation of Constitutional Court Speaker Gresa Caka-Niman.
That requirement, he says, comes as a rejection of the May 20th 2016 decision, which he claims the Constitutional Court has legalised Slobodan Milosevic's decisions.
“We have rejected and continue to oppose the May 20, 2016, decision with which the Constitutional Court of Kosovo has legalised Milosevic's decisions in Kosovo, and based on these decisions it has recognised ownership of the Decani monastery to the 24 hectares of land that the institution is pardoned by Milosevic's regime, thus thanks to the timing of the implementation of the discrimination laws”, Imeraj told Online Economy.
He said this Court is working on double standards because a December 30th decision last year on recognising the stage of those who left work in the 1990s with the monastery is at odds.
The key reason why we have requested the resignation of the Kosovo Constitutional Court's chairman has been that, according to us, we estimate that the Constitutional Court is working on double standards, when we say by double standards, and we say that the Constitutional Court on Friday, due to the 30 December, announced that employees in Kosovo who have left work in the 1990s, according to Milosevic-era discrimination laws, has been recognized by the working stage for us as a decision, but compared that this court to this composition in 2016 has brought about a decision to Decan's estate to the monastery to be pardoned, the court's court's 90th court decisions, or the 90th centuries ago.
