While an answer is still expected whether this app will have a positive epilogue, there have recently been reports that the establishment of the Serbian Majority Commission Associations is set as a condition for Kosovo membership in the KiE.
The KiE, in response to Kosovo's Klan, has quoted German Foreign Minister, who on May 22nd of last year at the 132nd Committee of Ministers meeting in Turin, as saying that “Germanis unequivocally supporting Kosovo's application for membership to the Council of Europe”.
Also, in response to the Kosovo Clan, The KiE has also quoted German Ambassador to Kosovo Jorn Rohde, who, according to the KiE, has in some cases stated: “The establishment of association has been agreed on by the parties under the dialogue since 2013/2015. It must now be implemented, as implementation of international agreements is the matter of rule of law and of the road ahead for Dialogue”.
The Council of Europe has said there is no information that such a condition is being put to Kosovo.
“However, we are not aware that the establishment of association is being set as a condition for Kosovo's membership in the KiE”, it was said in that response.
Days ago, the medium “Koha” reported that further blocking the establishment of association will not make it easier for Kosovo to achieve the necessary majority following its application to become a member of the Council of Europe.
That statement, the medium in question attributed it to the German Embassy in Pristina, adding that this would also pose serious obstacles to the further EU association process.
Meanwhile, it was also reported that Kosovo's membership in the KiE has failed, which the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora denied, stressing that Kosovo's “membership in the Council of Europe is irreversible”.
The membership process in the Council of Europe is irreversible and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspore will commit to having the first phase pass as soon as it can be passed”, the MPJD's public media statement said.
