Torres said Kosovo deserves to be supported in its battle with Serbia, adding that the “suggests the fact that the West has gone too far with the culling of Serbia”.
Kosovo deserves recognition, deserves support in the battle against Serbia, which is a Russian prosecutor and we must support Kosovo's democracy. I am concerned that the West has gone too far with caressing Serbia”, Torres told RTV21.
The American congresswoman added that Kosovo is an ally of the United States of America, while Serbia gave another epithet, the long-standing “handover of Russia”.
“We must firmly admit that Kosovo is an ally of the United States, while Serbia is Russia's protracted hand and we must firmly seek the acceptance of Independent Kosovo as democracy”, he has said.
For Torres, Kosovo is one of the most democratic states in the world. He called for recognition of Kosovo as such a state.
I serve proudly as chairman of the Committee for Albanians at the US Congress and honour the Role of Eliot Engel, the historic champion of the Albanian community at the US Congress. A few months ago I was in Kosovo with Hari Bajraktari to convey the message that the US- to stay without any doubt with the people of Kosovo. Kosovo is one of the most powerful democracies in the world and I called on every country in the world, every country in NATO and every country in the international community to recognise democratic Kosovo”.
We remember that Congresswoman Ritchie Torres had visited Kosovo in November last year. He had held meetings with opposition leaders, with cases, and testified to his unscathed support of Kosovo.
