Reports saying they do not accept cash payments of 2 euros have already been placed on many different points of the “Water Company Pristina”.
This action is reasoned that it comes after increased circulation of counterfeit currency in the market.
However, this is causing difficulties for citizens during payments.
From the “Pristina”, in response to RTK's written response, have said that after increased cases, the only way to be released into circulation is when this company buys equipment in identifying and identifying metal money and they have said they are in talks on their purchase.
However, even the public company “Pristina Parking” has emerged with the same announcement saying it does not accept payment of that value.
From this company, they have said that the reason for the ban on currency 2 euros concerns the financial damage caused to the company, as well as their procedure and treatment. But they report accepting a donation device to detect counterfeit coins and are also waiting for other equipment.
In this regard, the Kosovo Central Bank has responded by listing obligations for financial institutions.
Among them, the CEC says these institutions should ensure all euro bills and coins and other currency that they accept during their activity, tow them to the truth and adaptability by means of the mechanisms for processing and handling of bills and coins by standards.
Also, institutions are obliged to sequentine and withdraw from circulation, bills and euro currency, and other currency they suspect are forged.
