That's what he said. The UN, where it says Cholle's visit to northern Macedonia, Kosovo and Serbia, January 11th-13th, aims to underline US commitment to peace, stability and prosperity in the Western Balkans.
On 11 January, Councillor Chollet will first travel to Skopje, while this same day, he will continue on his way to Kosovo, where he is said to meet state leaders with the aim of discussing American efforts to achieve mutual recognition of Kosovo-Serbia.
“Councillor Chollet will continue in Pristina, Kosovo, to meet with government officials, other political leaders and civil society to discuss US efforts to assist in advancing Kosovo and Euro-Atlantic integration, including through EU facilitated dialogue to reach a comprehensive agreement on normalisation of relations between Kosovo and Serbia, based on mutual recognition”, it is said in the official announcement.
On January 12th, adviser Chollet will continue in Belgrade, where he will discuss with the leadership of the Serbian government energy security, regional economic integration and progress towards Serbia's EU membership goal.
He will also discuss Serbia's <x0 key role in strengthening regional peace and security and its continued commitment to the EU-attensive dialogue for normalising relations with Kosovo”.
