Campaign Against Buying Serbian Products Gives First Effects

But a major challenge, they say, is also unfair competition in relation to imported products, especially from Serbia.
The latter are hailing the campaign not to buy the products of this state but local ones.
Ramiz Gashi is the owner of the factory, which produces facades and colors. He says local producers face numerous challenges and with unfair competition from imported products, especially from Serbia.
Gashi stresses that campaigns initiated by citizens to support and buy local products, rather than import, have begun to affect consumers.
We only had about 70 percent of our products last year to export, starting with France, Germany, Austria, and this is distressing, that our products, along with exports, are sold very little in our country. Here, too, is a lot of competition, we have competition from other countries like Albania, Macedonia, and other states, but the most aggressive is competition coming from the Serbian state, known that in Serbia, much of the state is favoured by local producers themselves, until we so far do not have any favour from governments or our state here”, Gashi said.
He has praised the campaign as very good.
Maybe a little late this would be much earlier and start, it seems to have an impact, I think it would have a bigger impact on the future”, he said.
On the other hand, the starter of this campaign, Burim Piraj, says he took this initiative as a citizen about 15 months ago.
MPs interviewed by RTK support this campaign and stress that they should be forwarded with legal initiatives that empower local producers.
In recent days, there have been statements of citizens on social media that the prices of local products have increased as this campaign is beginning to take effect.
In this regard, RTK has requested an interview with the Kosovo Competition Authority to see if this authority has received any requests to act on these claims but has not returned.
