Have you ever wondered what your funeral will be like or who can be presented? Well, a curious Brazilian man has forged his death to find out.
Balthazar Lemos, 60, from Curiba, Paraná, announced his death in social media and organised a funeral for his friends and family.
So, just like the Friends episode where Ross Geller held a fake funeral to see which of his old college friends would participate, Lemos deceived to see who would appear.
Unfortunately for the 60-year-old Brazilian, his funeral did not produce the results he expected, everything went catastrophicly.
Early this month, Lemos posted a photo on his Facebook page, however, his friends could see from the background of the image that he was at Albert Einstein Hospital in São Paulo.
A few days later, he posted again, announcing that he was dead.
At the beginning of this sad afternoon, Balthazar Lemos left us. More information will come soon”, says the posting on social networks.
That left his family in shock. They were unaware that he was sick.
Friends got bored, including his 80-year-old mother who's in wheelchairs.
Then they began to pay homage to him and his life. Many commented on the post to ask for details of his death and cause, but no more information was provided.
Friends and family gathered at the funeral for the Brazilians in a church in his hometown of Curiiba. But as soon as the ceremony began, Leso's voice began to be heard by the speakers, detailing the 60 years of his life.
Those present were shocked and thought he had recorded the tape before his “death”.
The doors to the altar were then opened and friends and family remained shocked.
The funeral for cheating did not seem to have the results Lesos expected. As he tried to explain what had happened and why he wanted to counterfeit his death, his bereaved family members accused him of cruelty.
Lemos told the Brazilian newspaper Oempo “I had an idea five months ago. I wanted to pretend to be dead, people waited so bad, but the truth is I wanted to know who would come to me. ”
He also apologized for his fraud. I never told anyone, because I hoped it would work. I had no intention of hurting, insulting, or hurting someone. I sincerely apologize to these people”
Another of his friends told Oempo, “E since 2001. I thought the story was terrible. I was very sad and then felt indignant when I learned that it was a lie. To me, he died on the 17th (the day of false death), when I learned everything. I felt terrible” /abcnews
