Boris Tadic: I would not sign Franko-German proposal, Vuciq lost Kosovo in peace

Serbia's former president and Social Democrat Party Chairman Boris Tadic has said he would not sign the Franco-German proposal. He stressed that the biggest absurdity is that the government of Alexander Vuciqi lost Kosovo in peace. “The responsibility of this government for Serbia's position today in the context of resolving the Kosovo issue is [...]
The responsibility of this government for Serbia's position today in the context of resolving the Kosovo issue is great, and given that the same options have been in power in the 1990s, of course we can talk about historical responsibilities. Of course, I bear in mind that the greatest historical responsibility is those who have been able to decide on the matter before the 1990 ' s, especially before the 1974 Constitution. During the 1990s Serbia lost Kosovo in war, and it is absurd that it has lost in the last decade and at peace”, Tadic told Nova.
Tadic further said he wouldn't sign the Franco-German proposal.
It would be irresponsible for me to answer that question clearly while we still do not know the final text that will be offered for signing. What I've seen so far and what has appeared in public, I wouldn't sign. And unlike others, I don't say this demaginatively, but I stay with my part behind, because I refused to sign what was later signed by this government as the Brussels Agreement”.
According to him, if Sabria accepts this proposal, it will be difficult to prevent Kosovo's UN membership.
If an agreement is signed within the framework being discussed today in public and international circles, it will be much harder. Almost impossible. This government, today, is clear, must have been aware of the demands that will be laid out to Serbia for at least a few months and has done nothing to prevent it. I remind you that even in September at the UN General Assembly, Vuciq has not once said in his speech that Kosovo's membership in the UN is unacceptable to Serbia.
And that was absolutely necessary, because he knew since then that that very membership would be decided as a requirement in the “pesa proposal”. It is undoubtedly that this government accepted a passive stance under historical circumstances in which it was able to make a turn with active politics, lobbies and a strong diplomatic offensive”.
He also spoke of whether signing this proposal could put an end to Alexander Vuciqi's political life in Serbia.
In that sense, not all guilt can be thrown away, because it is unrealistic to expect Vuciq to replace himself. He is as strong as the opposition and is as manipulative as citizens agree to be manipulated. And that's why we have to deal with ourselves, not Vuchy.
It is not surprising that today, according to the model of Vuciqi propaganda, some opposition leaders equal support for this agreement with European integration. It's a direct fraud of citizens, which only Vuchy benefits from. After these elections, unfortunately, it is clear that with some of them, it is not an unconscious mistake from ignorance, but a conscious co-operation with the regime. Just as Vucinqi is servili to the West for the Kosovo issue, these leaders are just as servile to Vuciqi and this is the trap in which Serb society is found in the last decade”, he said.
Likewise, Tadic said it is clear that no one is threatening Serbia with sanctions and isolation.
We arrived there because it was only a matter of time when that tragic lie would emerge that in this government Serbia “does not bend in” and that “has regained its reputation in the world”. Of course, it has been shown that all those multiyear-old rumors, where the president declares himself a wolf, and the progressive ones are his wolves, were false. One day the wolf is declared, the next day he openly says he is powerless and complains that Serbia during his term has given everything and received nothing. However, it is certain that no one is threatening Serbia with sanctions and isolation, and this is an intentional fraud of citizens to justify the next moves, which was confirmed by ambassadors of the countries participating in drafting the” proposal.
