Biden replied “jo” to the journalists' question at the White House if he was in favour of sending them.
Macron was asked on January 30th at a joint news conference in The Hague with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte if France was considering sending combat aircraft. Nothing is disfellowshipped, but certain conditions must first be met”, he said, without providing more details.
Ukraine will have to officially search the aircraft, said Macron, who is expected to meet with Ukrainian Defence Minister Olexey Reznikov in Paris on 31 January.
Rutte said Ukraine had not officially requested F-16s from the Netherlands, and currently “is not talking about sending F-16s to Ukraine. There is no” required.
Dutch Foreign Minister Wopke Hoekstra told lawmakers earlier this month that there were no “no taboo “for sending combat aircraft.
Meanwhile in Berlin, the Ukrainian ambassador to Germany said Kiev had not yet asked Germany to supply warplanes, but noted how important they would be.
Combating planes are part of Ukraine's efforts to protect its airspace and defend against missiles issued in Ukraine's cities and infrastructure, Olexiy Makeyev told broadcaster Deutsche Welle.
His comments came after German Chancellor Olaf Scholz reiterated on January 29th that Germany would not send fighter planes to Ukraine.
Scholz agreed last week to send 14 Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine and allow other European countries to send theirs, following weeks of intense debate and increased pressure from Allies.
Following that decision, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Pesckov said Western decisions, including the delivery of tanks, are creating a highly tense “situation in Europe and the world in general.
Ukraine has been searching for tanks for months to fight Russian forces that have started the war in this country.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky believes about 300 tanks would help defeat Russia.
Poland, Spain, Finland, the Netherlands and Norway and several other states are expected to send their tanks Leopard to Ukraine.
