The Democratic League of Kosovo has demanded from the Government clarification on Slovenian media reports, that it has benefited millions of euros from the company “GEN” for the Vetevendosje Movement campaign. LDK chairmanship member Xhafer Tahiri at a media conference Tuesday said that “these suspicious concerns that run over the country's image should be addressed immediately if they are true or not”.
Tahiri said the latest research speaks for 100m euros, money which was managed by the company “GEN”, of which he claims, was allegedly financed by Albin Kurt's campaign.
This scandal is just deepening. The latest research speaks for 100m euros, money managed by the company “GEN”, allegedly financed by Prime Minister Kurti's campaign. While the Slovenian newspaper writes that GEN money in Tirana has been used to finance Prime Minister Kurti's campaign... Therefore, the LDK requires that these disturbing allegations weighing on the image of the prime minister and Kosovo be addressed immediately by the Kurti Government. Are the Slovenian newspaper's statements true? Have GEN's money been used to invest in Prime Minister Kurti”'s campaign, Tahiri stressed.
While his co-party, Wisar Azemi, said lack of passports materials has caused the country and citizens to suffer. Until he added that lack of passports has also damaged exiles, who, according to him, are endangering the workplace.
We face new passports in the absence of new applications every day due to lack of passports. For these new passports, citizens cannot travel on business, family and emergency issues. The lack of passports has damaged our exiles, who live in different countries and who head for documents every day in consulates, at embassies in the Republic of Kosovo. There is a threat to your work in the country where they live in the absence of passports”, Azemi said.
Meanwhile, during the Andemi conference, criticism also occurred over the failure to appoint Kosovo Police Director.
Besides lack of passports we have without a lack of realisation of capital projects. And this government can't afford six months to appoint a Police Director. So, we are dealing with a testimony to the inability of this power to govern for the benefit of Kosovo citizens. So we see it as the right to seek and call the Government of Kosovo in transparency and clarification to explain to Kosovo citizens why such a thing is happening”, Azemi added.
Asked by journalists whether there will be a meeting with American State Department Adviser Derek Chollet, he said there will be reports on each meeting.
In April last year, Ambassador Martin Berishaaj's name was involved in a financial scandal reported by a medium in Ljubljana.
