Arrested in Sicily by the most wanted mafia boss in Italy

Italian police have arrested Italy's biggest drug boss, Matteo Messina Denaro, Reuters reported on Monday. Denaro was arrested in the Sicilian Palermo capital, while sentenced in absentia to life imprisonment for participating in the murder of anti-mafia prosecutors, Giovanni Falcone and Paolo Borsellino. Denaro was arrested in the Sicilian Palermo capital, while sentenced in absentia to life imprisonment for participating in the murder of anti-mafia prosecutors, Giovanni Falcone and Paolo Borsellino.
As Reuters reports, he is also convicted of dozens of bomb attacks in Florence, Milan and Rome, as well as of killing 10 people.
Italian authorities said that even though he was on the wane, Denaro continued to command the criminal group from a distance.
He has also reacted in the case Renowned Italian journalist reporting on criminal cases, Roberto Saviano.
“The last ruler of the Cosa Nostra generation was no longer able to hide. Arrested. Clearly, he was in his place, like all bosses, he was right where everyone knew he was”, Saviano tweeted on Monday.
