So far, no one has claimed responsibility for the attack, reported The AP, adding that in that part of Syria, it is not uncommon for the bases where American soldiers are deployed to be hit with rockets or mortar attacks.
US Central Command Vice President Joe Buccino said that the “attacks of this kind put coalition forces and the civilian population at risk and undermine Syria's hard-earned stability and security and region”.
Central Command said members of the Syrian Democratic Forces led by the US-backed Kurds visited the country from which the missiles were launched and found a third that had not been issued.
The Syrian Observatory for United Kingdom-based Human Rights said the missiles were dropped by Iranian armed Arab tribes.
There are about 900 American soldiers in Syria, media reports. /Euronews albana
