How will Albanian satellites operate “-Albia 1” and “Albana 2”

Each of the spacecraft has contacted the network of satellite land stations and confirmed operation in all subsystems.

SpaceX mission “Transporter-6” ended on Tuesday with a two-stage missile that sent these four satellites into a low orbit.

The discussion included satellites “Albia-1” and “Albana-2”, which will support Albania in implementing a 3-year consultancy agreement as a service linked to satellite.

Dedicated satellites will enable Albania to load and monitor its sovereign territory for a series of applications, including agriculture management, border security and environmental monitoring.

Starting with our first mission in 2013, every concession has enabled us to expand and improve products and services for customers who seek efficient and affordable solutions to critical challenges”, said Matt Timmann, chief of satellite communication.

According to him, this launch advances technology and resources that are the hallmark of the company's pleiad model as a service to democratise access to commercial organizations and governments worldwide.

Three of the four spacecraft released are updated satellite models “Sat Mark IV-G”

Each of them carries a cargo sheltered at the tip of the skirt.

Fourth satellite is next generation “Sat Mark V-B”

The latter, there is a more effective spacecraft that holds a new repeat of a multispectral and hyperspectral camera that will translate longer matches with higher resolution.

Furthermore, this satellite “Sat Mark V-B” contains increased space on board and improved power, communication, driving and navigation systems that enhance the reliability and quality of the satellite consultancy.

Palatir

The cargo housed on Albania's dedicated satellites could be linked to the American company “Pallantir Technologists”.

The latter produces software and specializes in large data analytics.

On April 1st of last year, Palatrir and satellites would be launched into space as part of the SpaceX mission. Transporter 4.

It would then be activated the same satellite model “New Sat”.

It would be manifested as the climax of a six-month project, during which the satellite adjusted its expected cargo programme and remote computer equipment to run the Al-A platform of the Aegean Palatnar.

The joint project provided new skills that would have broad implementation in both government and trade sector mission groups.

Satellite architecture

Satellite designs and builds every component of its satellites (so, cameras, onboard computers, energy, sensors and reactivating systems).

Each spacecraft carries a multispectral camera with a submeter and a hyperspectral camera with 29 generations, and it includes an additional cargo space for the owner or third parties.

This approach offers a massive advantage at cost and allows shorter cycles to scale and repeat more efficiently.

For accounting purposes, the Palatir company optimised software for NVIDIA's Jetson platform, which works within the satellite load system.

The satellite land station network will be used for communication with Sattel and the Edge AI system on board.

Agreement

On October 2nd 2022, final contracts between the Albanian government and the American company “would also be signed. satellogic USA Inc”, for delivery of satellite services.

The deal was reached, namely, about a year after Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama had promised that Albania would have its two satellites in space for monitoring territory.

By the American company itself, it has been explained to Albanian Post how all relevant service delivery infrastructure will function.

“Po, with the satellogic Contelation, Albania will be prepared with satellite image response capabilities to cover the entire” territory, company representative Andrew told AP. Kelly.

According to him, with satellogic infrastructure, Albania will have access to responsible tasks, analysis and distribution of knowledge and critical information from various ministries in the country and build the capacities of the Albanian space economy.

With this agreement, Albania will also stand out among the many NATO countries for air sovereignty technology.

Kelly explains that with the priority access of both satellites: “Albania-1” and “Albana-250, Albania could speed up inclusion in the space community.

According to him, the Albanian government will use the power of high resolution satellite images for access and awareness in various situations.

“satellogic will enable Albania to address issues it considers urgent, such as management of agriculture, illegal cultures, illegal construction activity, traffic management, fire monitoring, border security and environmental monitoring”, says Kelly.

What does the contract predict?

The contract signed between the parties is worth six million dollars.

Defence Minister Niko Peleshi himself stated that the National Civil Protection Agency would receive information on landslides, the movement of structures of particular importance such as dams, bridges, water level in lakes, basins, rivers, the number of collapsed buildings, the surface of flooded areas, the surface of burned areas, the density of the population, and many others.

It will also receive information on maritime fishing, water control, where, in cases of violations of legal requirements, administrative measures will be taken by the inspection sector and fishing control

The water canals, drains, water canals, and water canals will be monitored specifically in situations of intense rainfall in order to analyze the area affected on agricultural lands or in populated areas.

In the area of tourism -- important for the Albanian economy -- it will serve to provide information on the quality of coastal waters aimed at promoting the coastal area. /Gazzeta Theme
