“Afatisation invented Kurti”, Krasniqi opens fast agreement in dialogue

Democratic Party of Kosovo Chairman Memli Krasniqi is sceptical that an agreement between Kosovo and Serbia will be reached by March of this year. He says termination of the dialogue has been invented by Prime Minister Albin Kurti, since even under the Franco-German plan there is deadline for the final deal. According to him, deadline [...]

Opposition leader says Kurti fell into Serbia's trap for the license issue and that his mistakes have irreparable costs for the country. He also addresses a host of criticisms against Kurt, calling him unable to govern.

“Afatatisation has been invented by Prime Minister Kurti to try to create a migration that is acceptable to his militants. The deadline does not belong to international partners. Undeclared deadlines imply the end of 2023, the beginning of 2024 because it is a period where there is no elections in the US, the EU, Germany and France, but neither in Kosovo nor Serbia at least planned. With this, they believe there can be some progress. But I haven't personally expected or expected to have such a fast-forward” agreement, he says.

According to Krasniqi, barricades and tensions in the north last month began due to Prime Minister Kurti's insistence on the issue of illegal plates, which he later gave up.

Krasniqi says that as a result of this mistake, now in the north neither license plates nor license plates RKS, nor state institutions that fully operate, nor full sovereignty.

“This started a chain of action, the resignation of Serbs from institutions, the resignation of mayors and asmblists who have automatically brought about the constitutional need for holding elections, then went the situation by eskating. In the end, the prime minister still accepted the American request late, also postponed the constitutional and legitimate elections that have so far had to be conducted. Now what's the situation, there are no RKS license plates in the north, no state institutions operating fully, no mayors and local elections, no complete sovereignty... The mistakes Prime Minister Kurti made to have had a cost are related to the entire situation”, Krasniqi declares.

Besides, the chairman of The PDK, it says, has been the lost year 2022 for Kosovo, as it has been an uncompetive and vision-free government at the top.

As he says, Kurti Government symbol is the threem bridge inaugurated in Istog.

This year has been a lost year for Kosovo. It was actually a continuation of the same governing mentality that was in 2021. A completely not competent government, a government without vision, a government that does not dare to act and undertake major projects. It's been two years, and what a Kurt Government project remembers is that threem bridge in Istog that has gone to cut off the tape. For two years a three-foot bridge. I also found a turquoise of a nest, saying he'd build four-five nests a week, or months. I'm speaking figuratively, that bridge is the symbol of this government, two years of the bridge. The economy has had extraordinary recession, inflation is a record, the energy crisis, as if we were asking people who are addressing us, are emotionally raising energy bills and we still had cold winters. There have been problems in education, never bigger strikes. Health workers are leaving the public system, almost every day and every week in an extraordinary number that in the medium-term plan will cause trouble”, he points out.

In contrast, Krasniqi says that during this year they will be more dynamic as opposition, though he adds that they have consistently been intense and active.

“I don't think there are many citizens who have waited to be ruled so weak. Even those of us who have been convinced that they don't know about government, nor do we ever expect to be so weak. Normally then people seek another dynamic. But however, we must be honest, during 2022 on all platforms we have been extremely intense and dynamic and active”, adds the opposition leader.

He for Kosova Preress also cites reforms achieved in the PDK, empowering the role of women and providing space for young people.
