25 years of second attack on the Yashhar family

Today marks the 25th anniversary of Serbia's second attack on the Jashar family in Prekaz.

That day, January 22, 1998, in the early hours of the morning, the Hunting Moon factory, some 500m from the houses of the Jashar neighbourhood, had moved Serbian police forces, which had been directed toward the Jashari Tower to attack it with weapons of various kinds.

Since Adem Jashar was not in the house that night, resistance to the attack by the Serbian police had been made to Saban and Hamza, with grandchildren.

After several hours of fighting and resisting, the invading forces are forced to retreat, just as they withdrew into the first sneaky attack - even the second time they were losing the battle.

In a determination not to allow the enemy to tread on this land during this attack, Selvette Jashari, Hamza's daughter, who, after March of eternity, was to become a witness and Ilirjana Jashar, daughter of Rift, were left injured.
