The challenges the Republicans face are more urgent. They hoped that during this year there would be a safe majority of at least one of the two chambers of Congress, but this did not happen.
While at the centre of almost all challenges is former President Donald Trump, who is struggling to strengthen his power over the republics with the approach of the race for the upcoming presidential election.
However, voters will have other options, such as Governor DeSantis, former Vice President Mike Pence, former US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and the outgoing governor of Maryland, Larry Hogan. Some of them have started looking for Donanceone.
At least so far the Democrats seem more united than the Republican rivals. But much depends on Joe Biden and whether he will continue to aim for a second term. If he gives up the re-advancing and the official announcement of this is made after several months, then the Democrats would face an uncertain future, still without potential prominent candidates.
