Zelensky has good news for Ukraine

The rumors have circulated for days for possible progress in the eastern Kharkiv region, but without a word from Ukrainian officials.

Zelensky refused to mention which countries had recovered, saying that “now is not the time to label”.

Separately, American officials said Ukraine was making “slow but significant progress against Russian forces, the BBC reports.

Speaking in his night-to-night video speech to Ukrainians, President Zelensky said there were good “ ” for the alleged success of Ukrainian troops.

I think every citizen feels proud of our soldiers,” he said, citing specific military units and applauding their bravery in fighting.

But he said: “Now is not the time to appoint the settlements where the Ukrainian flag is turning”.

Ukraine has strengthened its operational security in recent weeks, sharing few details about an expected counterensive widely in the east and south.

Ukrainian soldiers have launched an offensive south east of Kharkiv, towards the eastern Donetsk region, which Russia has maintained considerable military control since the beginning of the war six months ago.

Some reports suggest that Ukrainian forces may be several miles away from the city of Izyum, an important link in Russia's military supply chain.
