Ukraine says over 1,000 people were tortured and killed in Kharkiv region

Ukraine's Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights said on Friday that more than 1,000 people were tortured and killed in areas occupied by Russia in the Kharkiv region, the Interfax news agency said. Dmytro Lubinets also said that in the coming days the Ukrainian authorities will publish the exact number of people found at a mass burial in the town of Izzyum, the agency added, it broadcast Telegrafi.
This comes until a massive burial area containing some 440 tombs was found in the city.
Izzyum, occupied in April, was used by Russia as a main military centre to supply its forces from the east.
