The letter says that for the Western Balkans the full normalisation of relations between Kosovo and Serbia is of strategic importance, and in this direction, France and Germany have put their foreign policy and security advisers Jens Plötner and Emmanuel Bonne, to directly support Miroslav Lajčak in his efforts.
Also in this letter, recent tensions have reportedly shown that constructive steps on the road ahead are urgently needed at the political and practical level.
Scholz's maron has called for Kurti's readiness and maximum solution to make difficult decisions, which lead to the progress of dialogue.
The two leaders have also sent a letter to Serbia's president, Alexander Vuciq.
Full letter to Prime Minister Kurti:
Dear Prime Minister,
We are addressing this letter at a crucial time for security on the European continent and stability in the Western Balkans region.
We are convinced that, in light of Russian aggression against Ukraine, we need to make even stronger efforts for the European perspective to become a reality for the states of the Western Balkans and to find solutions to lingering bilateral and regional disputes.
For the Western Balkans, the full normalisation of relations between Kosovo and Serbia is of strategic importance.
We are addressing you as the leader of your state, to call on us to show readiness and maximum solution to make difficult decisions, which lead to the progress of EU-led dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia.
Recent tensions have shown that constructive steps on the road ahead are urgently needed, at the practical and political level.
Therefore, we have been tasking our foreign policy and security advisers, Mr. Jens Plötner and Mr. Emmanuel Bonnie, to directly support Miroslav Lajčak in his efforts.
Our proposal is that the Councillors pay a joint visit with Miroslav Lajčak to Kosovo and Serbia, so that they can find options, so that the process can move forward quickly.
Hopefully, this initiative will have your interest and support.
Honestly,
