The head of the trial's shame, Mapie Veltd Foglia, has asked Salih Mustafa to confirm his position that she will not use the right to speak last.
I'm not going to use this right because I'm convinced that I've said it all in my opening word that I've addressed to the panel”, Salih Mustafa said.
This has concluded the hearings in which concluding statements were heard by the parties.
Salih Mustafa's defence has demanded that he be acquitted of all charges the prosecution has filed on him, while the latter Tuesday has asked the court to sentence Salih Mustaf to 35 years in prison, the KP reports.
The defender of the victims, however, has asked the court to order Mustafa to pay compensation to the victims allegedly in the case individually.
It has already been made clear to him that the judgment that will, according to the trial, take place at the right time.
In this trial, 13 witnesses of the Specialised Prosecutor's Office have been heard, many of them protected and in closed or edited sessions. On the other hand, Salih Mustafa's defense has presented 15 witnesses.
At the beginning of this process, Salih Mustafa, who faces charges of alleged war crimes, had been declared innocent before the court.
According to the Specialised Chambers “The confirmed indictment stipulates that approximately between April 1st 1999 and April 19, 1999, at a detention complex in Zlatko, Kosovo, arbitrary detention crimes, cruel treatment and torture against at least six persons” were committed. Also, in the indictment it is said that “in a date between April 19, 1999, or about this date, and about the end of April 1999, a banned “was killed at that location.
Salih Mustafa is staying in custody at The Hague from September 24th 2020, when he was arrested.
