Local officials said residents of 22 roads in both districts were asked to evacuate.
According to the head of the town of Oleksandr Wilkull, at night two explosions were performed to increase the flow of water from the dam to the Inhulets River, and the situation was now “under control”.
Ukraine said the attack was revenge from Russia for its latest attack.
President Voldymyr Zelensky described Russia as a terrorist “ ” following Wednesday's attack on the Karachunuvske reservoir.
“You are weak to fight civilians”, said Zelensky, who was born in Kryvyi Rich, in his late-night speech Wednesday. The villains who, after fleeing from the battlefield, are trying to do harm from somewhere away from”, he added.
In his speech, Zelensky said the “reservoir had no military value at all”.
Water supply was affected by the attack on the city, where more than 600,000 people lived before Ukraine's full invasion of Russia on February 24th. The water penetrated through the dam and flooded the banks of the river, officials said.
But speaking Thursday morning, Mr. Willul said that water levels on the Inhulets River now “have dropped significantly”. He said there were no victims.
Moscow has not commented publicly on reported missile attacks.
The Russian Army had earlier acknowledged that it had hit power generation targets that caused wide power cuts, affecting millions of people in eastern Ukraine last weekend.
