Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu, who said Russia would call 300 thousand additional troops for Russia's war in Ukraine, in what the Kremlin has called a partial “mobile”.
The defence ministry showed why some employees working in the important industry will be excluded from the draft, Reuters writes.
This is done to ensure that the work of high-tech specific industries, as well as Russia's financial system, is not affected by Russia's first military mobilization since World War II. The exceptions apply to several IT employees, telecommunications, finance professionals, as well as some employees in systematically important media”, the ministry's announcement said.
