Albania's prime minister, Edi Rama, has reiterated calls for all countries in the region to join the “Open Balkan” initiative, while also calling on Turkey, Greece, Italy and Hungary to join this initiative.
For us, it is very important that this initiative joins not only all countries in the region, but Turkey, Greece, Italy or Hungary”, Rama has said during a meeting with other regional leaders in Belgrade, Klankosova.tv broadcast.
Rama showed how a counterpart from an EU member state expressed indignation why they were not invited to “Open Balkan”.
And a fellow prime minister from a European Union country told me why we were not invited. I told him to discuss it with my colleagues, and we'll probably be open to invite you, and I'm very glad we're seeing signs that the day is coming that they want to be invited to “Open Balkans” more and more places belong to those spaces where we've been waiting for so many years to cool <x1).
For me, the Balkans are just as important to Europe as Europe is to the Balkans”.
