Former Kosovo Police Director Rashit Qalaj in an interview for Online Economy has said they have the application of five candidates for Police Director is not enough.
According to him, it shows that most senior police superiors are reluctant to apply because of the pressure for the threat that Interior Minister Jedal Svecla has made.
He has clarified that their interview will take place after specific verifications are carried out.
I think the process should all go right. Number five in a legal way, I think it's enough to select the director of the police even though it's a small number for me. This well shows why most senior Kosovo Police superiors have been reluctant to apply for the position of director”.
We've been talking over and over again about the impact of the pressure on the threat the minister has made, and I think most of my former high rank colleagues have hesitated precisely because they don't apply. No matter what I hear, there are five candidates who are submitted to this competition, and I think their interviewer will become if certain verifications are carried out”.
Qalaj stressed that the director's selection is very important because it is one of the main positions in the state.
“I think that the selection of the director is very important because the general director's position is one of the top positions in the state and among the most responsible positions and I wish the selection to go the best possible way”, Qalaj said.
Samedin Mehmet's resignation left the police with the director's task officer from August.
