It has managed to catch up with the region in the vicinity, Luhansk, but fierce fighting is taking place across Donnetsk.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has now been forced to postpone the deadline to capture the August 31st region on September 15th, according to Ukraine's General Staff.
They said Russian forces are being re-roved to increase the number of troops in the West city of Donetsk.
The U.S. Institute for War Studies said that “is very slightly possible for Russia to capture all Donetsk within this deadline. /Periscopi/
