The renowned Nigerian footballer has decided to retire at the age of 35.
Obi Mikel was recently activated at Kuwait SC. He used to play for Stoke City, Trabzonspor, Midlesbrough, TJ Ted and Lynn.
He began his career as a professional football player in his native country, at Plateau United, while he achieved his greatest successes with Chelsea.
Former Nigerian promoter played for 11 seasons with “Blute”, recorded six goals and 13 assets in 372 presentations.
John Obi Mikel won two championship titles in Premierliga, three FA Cup trophies, a trophy at the League Cup and one in the League of Europe
He was also part of the Chelsea team that won the Champions League trophy in 2012.
Obi Mikel recorded 89 total presentations with the National A of Nigeria and scored six goals while winning the Africa Cup in 2013.
