The plan was unveiled by German news portal The Pioneery on Wednesday, September 7th, which claims to have seen the government's new strategy for qualified workers.
On Wednesday, the federal government introduced the draft of its new strategy during the summit of qualified workers in Berlin, in which representatives from politics, business and associations discussed new ways and measures to combat the growing lack of qualified workers.
The government, however, did not mention the possibility of gaining citizenship after only three years of residence in the country.
During the summit, Federal Labour Minister Hubert Hale, who was also organising, said that for many companies in Germany, the search of qualified workers is already a existential issue.
Our country needs qualified workers”- the minister said.
Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection Robert Habeck also noted the urgent need for more qualified workers for both Germany and the EU from third countries.
“We have to make education and training more attractive and we need to open up much more to immigration and promote together that Germany is a country of interesting and high quality jobs,” he said.
Last week, Minister Heil unveiled plans to create a <x0 potential <x0).x1> with a point-based system, which will help the country reduce the lack of labor.
This new card, which is expected to be introduced in the fall of this year, will enable anyone who meets three of the following four requirements - diplomas, German - language knowledge, or lived in Germany three years of work experience and younger than 35.
