Kosovo's Judiciary Council has cut salaries by 30 per cent for a four-month period, the two judges of the Constitutional Court in Mitrovica, Tatjana Virijevic and Dragica Jakovljevic, after both had attended the meeting invited by Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq.
This decision has been made on June 23rd of this year, after having approved the voluntary agreement for admitting the guilt linked between the two judges and the investigative panel.
The KCJ ruling says the two judges have committed disciplinary violations with their participation in the meeting with Serbian President Vuciq.
“For the investigative panel has been inconsistent that the subjects of the investigation with this case, Tatjana Virijevic and Dragica Jakovljevic, have committed disciplinary violations with their participation in the meeting of the 2203.2022, at the invitation of the president of the Republic of Serbia”, it says.
Insisting on the decision, other political representatives have reportedly been present, praising that this meeting has been political in nature since parliamentary and presidential elections in Serbia have been in place since then.
On the occasion of agreeing to the disciplinary sanctions under this decision, it is said that the panel as extenuating circumstances received it that the two judges have not previously had any prescribed disciplinary measures.
By contrast, on May 5th, 2022 has been confirmed by the Kosovo Judiciary Council that these two judges were being investigated by the Council after the same were reportedly participants in the Security Council meeting in Belgrade.
For the latter two, the Council, at the meeting held April 2022, has joined the disciplinary procedure for the two requirements and established an investigative panel.
Also participating in the meeting with Vucinqi has been the head of the Foundation Court in Mitrovica, Ljiljana Stevanovic, for whom the disciplinary procedure had also been initiated and the same was suspended.
Contrary to this, “Justice Vow” sources have indicated that Stvanovic had reached agreement on accepting disciplinary responsibility with the Investigative panel, which has also been approved by the Council.
While it is not known what disciplinary sanctions have been pronounced to President Stefanovic because the decision on reaching this agreement has not yet been published. /Betimy for Justice
