Jehona Lushaku-Sadriu, from the Democratic League of Kosovo, said the collective wage ban is taking place always first in Kosovo, and that this government decision is illegal, undemocratic and damaging citizens at this time when inflation is too high in Kosovo.
“for the first time in Kosovo salaries are not executed for teachers, this shows that this government aims to convict them. This decision is illegal”, she said today at a news conference.
She has invited the government to take the situation more seriously and to find solutions today to problems with the strike. According to her, collective pay stop is one thing that has never happened in Kosovo and is a precedent.
We are against measures condemning teachers. People today need salaries, due to inflation and crisis”, she said at a news conference today.
Rather than having children meet for the first time in schools, we have a situation where schools are closed. Teachers have addressed the requests but have not found support. At this time, teachers are being punished with no pay. The LDK is being conveyed with concern, and this is dedicated not to the ability of Government to dialogue with the union and the parents' advice. The government has created dissatisfaction and has created an unprecedented situation. I call on the Government to call the parties to address the demands and find a solution for the teachers and take this matter seriously. Since tomorrow, the execution of salaries and children should be returned to school”, she said.
