The government's announcement reportedly discussed democracy, good governance and transparency during the meeting.
He said NDI could further help democratise political parties and in supporting and strengthening civil society. Democracy is linked to respecting and promoting human rights and that basic human rights should not be won because they belong to us for the fact that we exist, Prime Minister Kurti said. He added that there can be no democracy without pluralism and a strong civil society, and that the Republic of Kosovo is a regional example in this regard. Prime Minister Kurti also stressed the need for quality data and data analysis that should come from our institutes and help decide and invite NDI representatives for co-operation in this direction”.
“Regional Director of WISE for Central and Eastern Europe, Mr. Benjamin expressed happiness that they are present in Kosovo and that they want to increase their presence more, as well as their co-operation with the Office of Prime Minister and other institutions for promoting good governance and democracy. He said it is evident that there is a battle between democracy and autocratics, and stressed the importance that the integrity of information and the combating of dezinformity has in this case. Mr. Benjamin thanked Prime Minister Kurti for his current support and participation in Women's Week”, the announcement said.
