- We reiterate the importance of EU enlargement as the most direct contribution to maintaining peace and stability in the region, enlargement is more than geopolitical.2. We call for a faster EU integration process, in line with the conditions known for membership, 3. We call for granting candidate status to Bosnia and Herzegovina by the end of 2022 4. We call for lifting visa regimes for the entire Western Balkans by the end of 2022 5. We call on the EU to stand by the Western Balkans in easing the consequences of the economic and energy crisis 6. We affirm our commitment to dialogue as the only way to overcome differences and open issues in the region.
The two officials were specifically asked for the Kosovo-Serbia reports, that is, the dialogue being made with the two countries, and that Belgrade was asked to recognise the independence of the Kosovo state.
“Dialog has been discussed, but no one has called on Kosovo and Serbia to move away where the end of this process is, this belongs to the two countries. In all previous statements and thus far, the two countries have been called on to move on with dialogue and try to correct issues, with what peace and stability would be maintained not only for these two countries but for the entire region”, Slovenian President Borut Pahor said.
Croatia's chairman was the most direct. He says Belgrade is strengthening in its positions towards recognising the Kosovo state.
If we were talking about recognition this would be a dead end and the meeting would be over before it started. I publicly call and encourage them to accept Kosovo, countries that have so far done so. Actually, it's not real for Serbia to accept Kosovo, that's the position of President Vuciq and the Serbian public. This is reality”, Croatian President Zoran Milanovic stressed, reports Clan K.
Officially, the process “Brdo-Brigini” is the initiative of Ljubljana and Zagreb since 2013, and learns to set an example of co-operation between countries that have often had disagreements.
