This collective has once again listed the seven requests to the Government and the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council.
We continued our protest today and seized the doors of the Prosecutorial Council. Turmed by the institutional responsibility being done over the body of women, we sought accounts and concrete steps by the Government and the KKP. We were together to demonstrate our resistance and organization in the fight against sexual violence against girls and women in Kosovo”.
We once again asked:
- Legalisation of the use and distribution of inflammatory gas for self-defence (pepper spray);
- Downloading police officials responsible for the minor rape case;
- Establishing a specialised sex violence unit in the police;
- Security, justice and rehabilitation for survivors of sexual violence, including the continued psychological advice of the 11-year-old minor offered by the state;
- The introduction of sex education in schools, including corrective centers. Education on sexuality and physical integrity is central to understanding and toward the concept of giving consent as a prerequisite for establishing any sexual relationship.
- The Minister of Finance, Transfers and Labor, Iron Murati, set up investigative commissions to the Centre for Social Affairs for Rape of the Child, who conducts public works and publishes its conclusions and recommendations;
- The Kosovo Prosecutorial Council to propose to the president the dismissal of Pristina's chief prosecutor, Kujtim Munishi.
On these demands and our insistence on living freely and without fear of violence, we reiterated together that our collective resistance will continue. Until we feel safe everywhere.
